USSONAR (Ultrasound School of North American Rheumatologists) is a society of rheumatologists, physicians, and health professionals in North America working to promote the use of musculoskeletal ultrasonography to advance the care of patients with rheumatic diseases.
The society has three aims:
- Fostering the training of physicians and allied health professionals in ultrasonography for the diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of arthritis and musculoskeletal disorders.
- Establishing standards of competency in ultrasound image acquisition, interpretation and reporting.
- Promoting research in the field of musculoskeletal ultrasound.
This site has been designed to facilitate education and discussion of musculoskeletal ultrasound. The physician or practitioner of musculoskeletal ultrasound must exercise professional judgement in the interpretation of scans and use the information within the limits of their capabilities, credentialing and licensing.
